History
of
Jubilee Gospel Center
Jubilee Gospel
Center was founded in April, 1990
by Pastors Tom
and Joanne Herendeen. Our
first services began in a Wheatfield kitchen
with approximately 5 people.
It began to
grow, and soon there were 20 plus believers! Our services were moved to
the DeMotte
Library and were held in the basement. This suited us for a time, but
once
again we found that we were growing. We
moved to Roselawn and our services were in a small polebarn. God
was moving!
We
had some wonderful services and Vacation
Bible School in this little building. Again,
we needed something bigger!
This is when
we built our current building!
Today, we have seen as many
as 75+ in our services and are embarking on an exciting journey to
erect a
larger building in the summer of 09’!
Pastor
Tom
Herendeen graduated to heaven on May 4, 2004 and Pastor
Joanne has retired from the ministry
however; she still attends Jubilee
Gospel
Center.
Pastors John and Carrie
Frye, our current
pastoral
staff, began their ministry at Jubilee on January 22, 2006. Pastor
John Frye grew up in the
Hammond/Lansing
area of Indiana
and his wife Carrie
is the
daughter of Pastor Tom Herendeen and she grew up in Northeast and Northwest Indiana. The
two of them were married September 10,
1977.
They became Christians in
their teen years.
John was called into the
ministry when he was
14 years old and his wife Carrie was called at only 12 years old! John
has, and is currently studying with
Benny Hinn ministries.
God has blessed them with 3
daughters, 7
grandchildren,
and 2 step-grandchildren.
One
grandchild, Breanna has joined Pastor Tom in heaven!
John and Carrie would like
to welcome you to Jubilee
Gospel
Center
and our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will minister to your needs. All
are
welcome at Jubilee!
